1iQ is a US-based startup building an AI-powered platform for the construction industry. Their tool helps construction teams make smarter decisions using real-time data and artificial intelligence. They needed a landing page that matched the innovation of their product — something visitors would remember.
The client had one clear demand: the landing page must feature 3D content. They wanted visitors to feel the scale and intelligence of their platform the moment they landed on the site. Beyond the visuals, the page had to be fast, mobile-friendly, and designed to convert visitors into users — all while meeting the high design standards expected in the US SaaS market.
3D content on websites is still uncommon for a reason — it’s heavy, complex, and can slow everything down. The client wanted an animated 3D cityscape that users could interact with by simply scrolling. Making this work smoothly across different devices and screen sizes was our biggest challenge.
A beautiful website means nothing if it takes too long to load. With 3D models, video backgrounds, and rich animations, we had to find the right balance between visual impact and page speed.
The client wanted the entire page to tell a story as users scrolled — from the hero section all the way down. Every animation, every card reveal, and the 3D scene itself needed to respond to the user’s scroll position seamlessly.
3D-heavy websites often break on mobile. We needed to ensure the experience remained polished on phones and tablets, not just desktops.
We designed the 3D cityscape model in Blender, creating an animated city that visually represents construction intelligence. The model was carefully optimized and exported as a GLB file — a lightweight 3D format built for the web — ensuring it could load quickly without sacrificing visual quality.

We used React Three Fiber — a powerful React-based renderer for Three.js — to embed the 3D scene directly into the website. Combined with Drei, a helper library that simplifies lighting, camera controls, and environment setups, we created a realistic 3D experience complete with shadows, reflections, and smooth camera movement — all running inside the browser.

Native browser scrolling can feel rough, especially when animations are tied to scroll position. We integrated Lenis Smooth Scroller to replace the default scroll behavior with fluid, natural-feeling motion. This made every scroll-triggered animation — from card reveals to the 3D scene — play back like a movie rather than a slideshow.

Using GSAP’s ScrollTrigger, we choreographed the entire page like a narrative:
